  • Sadie’s is Friday February 24. Yes you heard that right, a Friday night dance! It will be from 7-10 PM. Tickets are on sale now at the bookstore. As a reminder that if you are taking a guest, a form will have to be filled out and brought to the Bookstore to be able to purchase tickets. The form is on the new MVHS website if you go to the Bookstore page.  With the dance being a Friday, the guest forms will have to be turned in by Thursday, February 23.  Make sure to plan ahead and get your tickets early!
  • Today is the day! NHS is manning the tables during both lunches today near the 300 building. We will be there until Monday, Feb. 13. Help everyone feel appreciated and loved by completing a kind note that will be delivered during 1st hour. 
  • Juniors and Seniors! Do you have a 2.8 or higher gpa? Would you like to visit a college campus and have a free lunch?! We will be traveling to GCU on Friday March 24th to tour the campus and learn about life at GCU. Juniors and seniors who are interested and meet the gpa requirement can stop by the Career Center to pick up a permission form for the trip. Forms are due back no later than March 9th. Space is limited so sign up today! Students will be signed up on a first come first serve basis.
  • Seniors! Do you need help paying for college or trade school? Have you completed your FAFSA? We will host a FAFSA workshop night on Thursday, February 16th from 6-8pm in the library and Career Center for students and parents who need help completing the FAFSA. Food from Chick-fil-A will be available for those who attend. Grab some food, fill out your FAFSA and find out if you qualify for free money for college! Sign up for the event using the link on the Mountain View counseling page, in Canvas, or stop by to see Mrs. Simmonds and she will help you sign up! 
  • Attention Toro Fans! Our girls basketball and our boys soccer will both be playing in their first playoff game at home this Thursday! Please come and show your support!! Girls tip off at 7pm and boys soccer at 6pm. Let's goToros!
  • This past weekend our Academic Decathlon team competed at Regionals, taking home 8 medals from 5 of our 9 competitors. The team placed 5th overall in the Region, surpassing all other teams in Mesa Public Schools. Senior David Mora Anzai won a GOLD medal in the math category, while Senior Peter Winward took home a Silver medal in the Math Category. Junior Davin Decker won TWO Silver Medals in the Economics and Essay Categories. Senior Lincoln Drysdale took home a bronze medal in the Language and Literature category, while Senior Hyrum Stewart earned a silver medal in the speech category and 2 bronze medals in interview and essay. The top overall scorer for Mountain View was Senior Sawyer Morgan, accompanied with outstanding performances from Juniors Joshua Leung and Khiem Nguyen and Senior Brooklyn Clayton, which contributed to the team’s success. If you see them on campus, give them a big congratulations for their months of outstanding hard work. If YOU are the next great mind and tireless worker here at Mountain View, see Mr. Helsel in room 1222 to signup for next year’s team!
  • Seniors! - are you interested in a career in Aesthetics? Do you want to become an EMT? How about working in the HVAC or welding industry? Did you know that after you graduate you can train for these careers and others at EVIT? A rep will visit Tuesday, February 14th in the Career Center to present to seniors who would like to learn about EVIT and the career programs they offer after you graduate from Mountain View. Sign up using the Career Center Events sign up form on the counseling site, in Canvas or stop by the Career Center and Mrs. Simmonds will sign you up! See you there!
