  • Sadie’s is Friday February 24. Yes you heard that right, a Friday night dance! It will be from 7-10 PM. Tickets are on sale now at the bookstore. As a reminder that if you are taking a guest, a form will have to be filled out and brought to the Bookstore to be able to purchase tickets. The form is on the new MVHS website if you go to the Bookstore page.  With the dance being a Friday, the guest forms will have to be turned in by Thursday, February 23.  Make sure to plan ahead and get your tickets early!
  • Join Ms. Randle and Mrs. Thune in the Mountain View Library during A and B lunch on Tuesday, February 7 to read books, short stories, or poems by African American authors of your choice. Our goal is simple: to center African American voices as we gather to read independently.
  • Today is the day! NHS is manning the tables during both lunches today near the 300 building. We will be there until Monday, Feb. 13. Help everyone feel appreciated and loved by completing a kind note that will be delivered during 1st hour.
  • Lady Toro's! If you are interested in playing softball this year, tryouts will be held on February 6th, 7th and 8th at the Toro Softball Field at 3:30 p.m. You must have completed Register My Athlete and be cleared before you can try out. Please see Coach LaSalle in Room 1226 or the gym office if you have questions.
  • Hi Toros! Looking for a summer job opportunity? A recruiter from Golfland/Sunsplash is scheduled to visit Mountain View Thursday, February 9th at lunch on the lunch patio to let you know about job opportunities. Stop by their table to learn all about their summer jobs!
  • Seniors - Are you planning to attend ASU? Do you have questions about your next steps? Our ASU rep is scheduled to visit today at 2nd hour to tell you about next steps and to answer your questions. The visit will be in the Career Center. Ask your 2nd hour teacher for a pass and stop by the Career Center You will sign in for the visit and be excused for 2nd hour. See you there! 
  • Seniors - Are you planning to attend NAU? Do you have questions about your next steps? Mountain View's NAU rep will be here tomorrow, February 8th at 2nd hour to answer your questions in the Career Center. Sign up for the visit using the Career Center sign up form in Canvas, on the Mountain View Counseling page or stop by to see Mrs. Simmonds to get signed up. You will be excused from class.   • Toros! A rep from SCC will visit the Career Center during lunch today to present to students about SCC admission and programs and the Hoop of Learning summer 2023 program. See you at lunch! 
  • Juniors and Seniors! Do you have a 2.8 or higher gpa? Would you like to visit a college campus and have a free lunch?! We will be traveling to GCU on Friday March 24th to tour the campus and learn about life at GCU. Juniors and seniors who are interested and meet the gpa requirement can stop by the Career Center to pick up a permission form for the trip. Forms are due back no later than March 9th. Space is limited so sign up today! Students will be signed up on a first come first serve basis. 
  • Seniors! Do you need help paying for college or trade school? Have you completed your FAFSA? We will host a FAFSA workshop on Thursday, February 16th from 6-8pm in the library and Career Center for students and parents who need help completing the FAFSA. Chick-fil-A will be available for those who attend. Grab some food, fill out your FAFSA and find out if you qualify for free money for college! Sign up for the event using the link on the Mountain View counseling page, in Canvas, or stop by to see Mrs. Simmonds and she will help you sign up!
  • Congratulations to junior Emma Bachrach in Mrs. Thune's AP Lang class for earning an Honorable Mention for Poetry in the 100th year of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized some of America's most celebrated artists when they were teenagers, including Andy Warhol, Stephen King, and Joyce Carol Oates.
  • Stop by the No Place for Hate Club today after school in Room 1135 (Ms. Keel's room). We'll be collaborating in committees to celebrate Women's History Month. Hope to see you there!
