Juniors who have taken a CTE class and plan to attend college full-time may apply for Engineering or IT internships. Seniors! Do you need money for college or trade school? Are you planning to apply for the Wood Foundation Scholarship or the Desert Club scholarship? The deadlines are soon! The Wood scholarship deadline is February 12 and The Desert Club application is due February 15! The applications are available in Canvas, in the Career Center and also in the Career Center Newsletter. Stop by the Career Center to see Mrs. Simmonds if you have questions.
Juniors and Seniors ! Have you ever wondered how your skills and interests line up with different careers? The ASVAB CEP can help you find out! We will be offering the ASVAB Career Exploration assessment at Mountain View on Wednesday February 25th! Sign up using the link on the Counseling site, in Canvas or stop by the Career Center if you have questions. Scores will not be released to the military unless the student opts in. The sign up form will close on Friday February 20. We can have up to 45 students take the assessment so sign up soon to reserve your spot!
NHS is hosting kindness week from February 9 to the 13th. Each day, students can send a kindness gram during their lunch, free of charge, and the recipient will receive it during the week.
Seniors - are you undecided on what you would like to do after high school? Have you considering earning a certificate in a trade such as aesthetics, cosmetology, EMT, nursing, welding or another program? Mountain View's EVIT rep will visit the Career Center on Tuesday, February 10th at 4th hour to tell seniors about the different programs they offer after high school. This Friday we will be having Mountain View's 4th annual student initiated Multicultural Festival. Started by Mountain View Alumnus Lucia Gutierrez and sponsored collaboratively by The Spanish-Latino Club, Asian Support and Identity Alliance, the Black Student Union, For The Girls, and the Indigenous People's Club, we will have a day of fashion, food, and fun. Bring your money and get ready to interact with the cultural identities of Mountain View.
