Did you know that the main staple of the Aztec diet, the precursor of what we know now as Mexican food, was corn? This was typically ground and made into tortillas. It was also turned into popped corn, which was a tradition the Aztecs picked up from their Mayan predecessors.
If you’re looking for plans this weekend, head over to ASU Gammage on September 16th for ¡Viva México! Celebrate Mexican Independence Day with an exciting concert by the ASU Symphony Orchestra. Don't miss the post-concert celebration at the Music Building Lawn just across the street. There will be food trucks, snacks, a live DJ, arts and crafts projects and lawn and table games.

Juniors & Seniors; Mesa Public Schools is holding a career and college fair on Monday Sept 16th for all junior and seniors interested to learn more about different colleges, technical schools in state and out of state, or military options, and careers with internships. We have buses bringing us to the event. You will be excused from your classes. Come pick up a permission form from the counseling office or the career center.

There is a "Braille Phrase of the Week," posted on the door, and when you successfully decode it, you will get a small piece of chocolate and meet a fluent Braille reading student, too!
