Hey Toros, Would you like to have a voice in what is happening on Campus! Would you like dedicated time to be more informed and involved? Would you love to influence how Mountain View spends some of its money? Come see what the SIAC committee is all about. In SIAC, Students, Parents, Teachers and Administration come together to involve themselves more purposefully in what happens on our campus. We would love for you to be a part of it. Our first meeting will be on Monday, September 9th, at 3:30, in Library Room A. We hope you will come get involved.

And now, to celebrate the Hispanic heritage month, here’s some information about the Aztecs, one of the pre columbian civilizations in what is now Mexico. Did you know that this civilization developed a system of compulsory education for all of their children? From the ages of 12 to 15, all children were required to attend a school known as a cuicacalli (qui-kah-callie), or house of song. Here, students learned ceremonial songs and the cosmology of their people. Kids attending school were escorted to and from this school by elders to ensure no one went truant. Now you know!
