Did you know that September 15 to October 15 is the United States National Hispanic Heritage Month? This time is dedicated to recognize the contributions and influence of Latin Americans to the history, culture and achievements for our country. The celebration is especially important during this time of the year because September is the month when various Latin American countries celebrate their Independence. Stay tuned for important and fun facts about Latin American contributions to our country.

Join For the Girls in room 1221 for our ""Self Love September"" Meetings. In September, we will focus on self love and reconnecting with our goals. If that sounds interesting to you, stop by room 1221 for our first Self Love September Meeting on September 9 right after school! See you there! We will have snacks in room 1221!

Hey Toros, Would you like to have a voice in what is happening on Campus! Would you like dedicated time to be more informed and involved? Would you love to influence how Mountain View spends some of its money? Come see what the SIAC committee is all about. In SIAC, Students, Parents, Teachers and Administration come together to involve themselves more purposefully in what happens on our campus. We would love for you to be a part of it. Our first meeting will be on Monday, September 9th, at 3:30, in Library Room A. We hope you will come get involved.

All NHS members, our first meeting of the year will be Thursday, September 5 during both lunches in the south pod of the auditorium. Make sure you have submitted your summer hours and we will see you Thursday!

Are you interested in a career in law enforcement? Deputy Tinoco from the Maricopa County Sheriff's office will visit Mountain View at lunch TODAY to tell students about the MCSO Cadet Training program. The Cadet program is open to students in 9th-12th grades. Interested? Look for his table on the lunch patio!

Are you thinking about attending an out of state university? Would you like to learn about a highly ranked university located in Ohio that is known for world class research? Popular majors are computer science, mechanical engineering and biology. A rep from Case Western Reserve University will visit Mountain View on Friday September 6 in the Career Center during the 6th hour. Interested? Sign up for the visit using the form on the counseling site, in Canvas or stop by the Career Center and Mrs. Simmonds will sign you up.
