All 8th graders who are interested in attending Mountain View (and their families!) are invited to join us on Monday, December 11 for Freshman Preview.
- Tour our CTE classrooms and learn about our CTE programs, partners, and internships. Our CTE career coach, Vicki Schomaker, will be on hand to talk about the amazing opportunities open to our students through CTE!
- Meet our Athletic Director, Joe Goodman, and representative coaches from each sport
- Learn about our Freshman Academic Success Teams (FASTeams) and how they're improving student outcomes. We'll have teacher teams on hand to meet your student and answer your questions!
- Have you wondered how to help your student make good friends in high school? MV has a vibrant student club culture, with over 50 clubs on campus that cover a wide variety of interests. Whether your student is a Swiftie, a Pickleball player, a Spiderman fan, a hiker, a D&D player, an animal lover, or maybe just interested in making the world a better place, we have a club for them!
- Seminary representatives will be on campus with MV counselors to get your student registered for release-time seminary.
- For our student musicians, our award winning band, choir, theater, and orchestra directors will be available to talk about their programs as well as the Mountain View Music Conservatory.
- If your student loves an academic challenge, we'll have reps from Model UN, Speech & Debate, Academic Decathlon, NHS, AVID, Changemakers, Youth & Government, and world languages here to talk about their fantastic programs.
- Our SpEd team is excited to meet you! Site Lead Courtney Porter will be available to chat about our programs and services. Come see how we're working to create an inclusive environment through our Unified PE programs in collaboration with Special Olympics.
- Your student can meet their counselor and get assistance with registration.
We'll have performances by our marching band and Pom and Cheer teams. You can also catch a few minutes of girls' basketball or boys' soccer games happening in the gym and at Toro stadium.
