  • Students, are you interested in having a say about activities and events on campus? Are you interested in increasing your leadership skills? If so, you might be interested in running for student council. There will be 2 parent meetings, one Monday February 27 and the other Tuesday February 28, both at 6:30pm. To be eligible to run, you and a parent MUST attend one of them. 
  • Sadie’s is next Friday. It will be from 7-10 PM. Tickets are on sale now at the bookstore. As a reminder that if you are taking a guest, a form will have to be filled out and brought to the Bookstore to be able to purchase tickets. The form is on the new MVHS website if you go to the Bookstore page.  With the dance being a Friday, the guest forms will have to be turned in by Thursday, February 23.  Don’t risk missing out and get your tickets early!
  • From Mountain View's Black Student Union, here is today's Black History month fact. At the 2023 Grammy Awards, Beyoncé won her 32nd Grammy, meaning she has won the most Grammys of any musician in history. In 2021, she attained the record for winning the most Grammys of any woman and singer in history. Along with the record-breaking, her 8 nominations tied her with the current record for Most Nominated artist in Grammy History, sharing the record with her husband, Jay Z, with a total of 83 nominations each.
  • Juniors and Seniors! Wondering about what career might be a good fit for you? Do you know how your skills and interests line up with different jobs? The ASVAB Career Exploration tool can help you answer these questions. The ASVAB will be offered at Mountain View on Wednesday, March 29th. You will be excused from class for the time you are away. There is no commitment to the military and your scores are not released to recruiters unless you give permission. Sign up for the ASVAB on the Counseling website, in the Career Center module in your Class in Canvas or stop by the Career Center in room 1238 and Mrs. Simmonds will help you sign up. Space will be limited so sign up today!
  • Juniors and Seniors! Thinking about where you'd like to attend college. Would you like to take a day to visit a college campus and have a free lunch? Stop by the Career Center and pick up a permission slip for a fieldtrip to visit GCU on Friday March 24th. Students with a 2.8+ or higher gpa, meeting GCU admissions criteria, are invited to attend. Space is limited so sign up today! Students will be signed up on a first come first serve basis.
  • Hey Seniors! Interested in going to a Spring Training game? You can get free tickets by just doing your FAFSA. If you are interested talk to a FAFSA Peer Coach, or reach out to Mr. Czuba. Also check out the Senior FAFSA News Board in the Main building second floor hallway for more details! 
  • Have you ever played chess? Do you want to learn to play chess? Or are you, perhaps, a serious chess player? No matter what your level, feel free to come visit the Student Involvement Club's Chess Club TODAY after school. We meet in room 1216 - Señor Norton's room. If you don't remember the room number, just come to the west corridor. It's totally low-key... All skill levels are welcome! Just come, hang out, and learn or practice chess. We also have Uno cards in case your friend drags you along and you don't want to play chess. And yes, teachers and staff are welcome to join a game.
