Paws & Peers
Mountain View is fortunate to have five therapy dogs on campus as part of Mesa Public Schools' Paws & Peers program.
All of our dogs have gone through both obedience and therapy training as well as multiple evaluations to ensure that they are a good fit for a school campus. If you would prefer your student not interact with our therapy dogs, please submit the opt-out form linked below.
If your student is in need of a therapy dog, they may go to the administration office, counseling office, or health office and request one.
Mac
Mac is a 4 year old mini Goldendoodle. He LOVES people and thinks meeting new friends (humans and dogs) is the best thing ever! He splits his time between Mountain View with Mr. Long and Red Mountain with Mrs. Long! Mac loves to hike, camp, travel, play, and cuddle with his human family of 6. If you ever see him around feel free to pet him, rub under his chin and behind his ears, and give him a hug. He will love you!
Tessa
Tessa is a 3 year old standard poodle. She tends to be a picky eater but loves meat, peanut butter, and pork rinds. She knows several tricks like shake, high five, speak, jump and roll over. She is a good cuddler and loves the students at MVHS! You'll usually find her with Mrs. Borge in the SpEd department.
Copper
Copper is a rescue hound who just loves to lay around with his friends in Mrs. Tarwater's classroom. He's especially fond of a good belly rub!
Tibbie
Tibbie loves a good crowd. Nothing like a busy hallway during passing period or the courtyard at lunch to ensure getting the maximum number of pets!
Kiwi
Kiwi is a mini goldendoodle who can best be described as a black hole of affection. There are not enough pets and snuggles for this sweet girl! She's at Mountain View on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in the admin office with Mrs. Moncur. Come say hi!
